Lingo and gardening words

Annual – plant that lasts just one year. It completes its life cycle from germination to producing seeds, then dies, in one growing season (one year).

Biennial – a plant that lasts two years. It completes its life cycle from germination to producing seeds, then dies in two years.

Endemic – a native that’s found only here, not elsewhere in the world

Native – not introduced, been here for yonks eg before people.

Perennial – a plant that lasts more than two years
